Carnage! Don't worry, I'll fix it

I'm back on the road tonight. Swapped in the new cam. made sure everything was torqued correctly. I manually turned the engine a few times to make sure everything was happy and nothing was hitting. torqued the cam again with pressure on different valves to make absolutely sure again. I'll...

Carnage! Don't worry, I'll fix it

Thanks. Don't worry about it. I'm going to check ebay and then local salvage yards. Just tested the valves and they're all good. Thank god. I should be back on the road by midweek. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Carnage! Don't worry, I'll fix it

I'm hoping to get it done next week. Is there a difference in the cams between the 3.9 and 4.0? If so, don't worry about it. I'm hoping to only replace the one. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Carnage! Don't worry, I'll fix it

So, I replaced the valve cover gaskets and chain tensioners. Apparently, I didn't get something torqued properly on the camshaft. I'll test tomorrow to see if there's valve damage. Anyone know a good source for a replacement passenger side exhaust camshaft? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Anybody got a current source for secondary timing chain tensioners?

Gaskets and tensioner don't look like any problem. Anyone have a video or pointers on the upper timing chain though? Trying to figure out how long I'll have to steal my kids' car while the LS is down. Gotta say it is awesome coming back here after about 3 years only to see a bunch of the same...

Anybody got a current source for secondary timing chain tensioners?

Hey guys! Long time no see. I'm doing my valve cover gaskets this weekend and figured I should probably do the chain tensioners at the same time. Does anyone have a source to get the metal version of them? thanks. PS, I'm still daily driving my 2000 sport. It's a champ. Starting to show...

    AC Compressor

102" is the right length but it rubs the idler arm.

    Anyone Parting out?

Good news and bad news. A 102" belt is the correct size to bypass the compressor. Unfortunately, the tensioner hangs down just enough to rub the belt. It is close enough that I almost consider just filing it down. But, that would be just about as much work as anything else. Anyone know how...

    Anyone Parting out?

I decided that I will just take the compressor out of the loop for now. I know some people were asking what size belt to use to bypass the compressor. I did a lot of searching and didn't see a definitive answer so I'll figure it out and post here. I won't need A/C for another 4 months or so...
