Lincoln LS (First Gen) Design flaws

Easier said than done! The planned and never delivered Thunderbird/LS sport suspension option consisted of Brembos, Bilsteins, and different rate springs. According to an interview in the press with the product planner at the time. Also, I was at the press launch in Detroit many years ago and...

Lincoln LS (First Gen) Design flaws

I know the two series are considered different generations, but I don't consider them to be so. All the basic hard bones are identical, even interchangeable. The LS is basically a good car - ahead of it's time. There are design shortcomings... the transmission is terrible, and the lack of a...

    Car Will Not Stop Overheating..

Don't know, but mine doesn't overheat at all, no matter how hard I push it. I will reiterate that bleeding a modern engine is a very different procedure than before. You've got to get every single air pocket out of the system. It's not straightforward. And this is on the assumption that your...

Yes it is, and the owner of DrivingEnthusiast.net has a 17k mile 2006 LS.

    goog article on dew platform

Remember that I wrote the original article in 1999. Things were much brighter then. That was when Jacques Nasser ran the show and was not only 100% behind the LS, but also had on the books plans for a smaller car based on this platform ("3 series"), as well as a larger one ("Continental"). And...

    Opinion on Pioneer stereo install

GREAT reply - thanks! This helps enormously. Is that step-down something like the Axxess Interface AFDI-5V Ford 12V to 5V Step Down ? My corp. HQ is in a not-so-great part of town... so I think I need that detachable faceplate. I've already lost my older Alpine unit there a few years ago...

    Opinion on Pioneer stereo install

I'm thinking about installing a Pioneer AVHX8500BHS Double-DIN Multimedia DVD Receiver With Bluetooth And HD Radio into my '06 LS. This has a detachable faceplate, which is a requirement. The LS will be perfect with a good stereo system, especially with Satellite. Question - I have the top...

Just came into 16,000 mile 2006 Lincoln LS

And, contrary to the poll, it's gotten it's first mod already. Wheel locks. :p

Just came into 16,000 mile 2006 Lincoln LS

Pic! My LS feels like new, without even plates, up to 16.8 miles already. Incidentally, my site is loaded with LS press releases and images, my LS blog, and more. It's making for a very nice daily driver, and keeping the miles off my Boss 302 (which I wish to hell had the LS' IRS instead of...

I'd like to see that same dyno in 100 degree Texas stop-n-go rush hour traffic. That's what I'm faced with here... and that's why I have had mixed results with using these types of intakes on street vehicles.

I should have said the inlet for the stock airbox... that's the tiny part.

No, I'm kidding on the engine swap but I do enjoy following those types of threads. All in all, this car is so good as it is that it doesn't need anything, or much. I'd like to have a very mild un-corking of the flow, via a cold air (the intake for the stock airbox is tiny), and an extremely...
