    Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe there's still some Jaguar 4.0 metal cooling parts that can be used on the LS. Also there's a hose that runs in the engine valley and it's a bear to get. Had to take mine to the dealer when it was leaking because I couldn't get it. Sent from my iPhone...

    Try driving that beast 30 miles to work and back. You'll want something more efficient because 17MPG just doesn't seem like it lasts nearly enough.

    I bought 2 keys and remotes from eBay when I had my LS. Dealership charged me $80 to program all 3, and they worked until the day I traded it.

    It may not match if you get it painted off the car depending on how bad your paint is. Most good bodyshops blend in new paint so it matches better.

    In all honesty I replaced 4 coils, all one at a time, in the 7 years I owned my 01. I also never once changed the valve cover gaskets and did not have oil in the wells.

    LED headlights. I wouldn't use anything less than the 3600's. I've personally seen them in a TBSS and they put my HIDs to shame.

    A faulty trunk switch will cause a mystery beep too. It loses contact for a brief second and barely flashes on the info screen.

    What's the temp gauge doing when the car goes into failsafe mode? I'm betting the coolant is overheating and that's what triggers it.
