...oops! Oh well....I guess I'd have been looking for those wires for quite a while.:eyeroll: Anyway, the check engine light finally came on today so, I guess it's off to the mechanic.....

Oddly, it runs OK until you give it a lot of throttle. It behaves like one of the wires is not making full contact all of the time or, like it has bad points, even thouhg I know it doesn't even HAVE points. Maybe I'll try and change the wires and plugs and see if that works.

My CEL is not on. But, I was afraid it might be coils. It could be something as simple as a fouled plug. I once had a '90 Mazda MX-5 that acted this way. The problem with it was the crankshaft! I'm not expecting anything quite that drastic.

I've had my ls for a while and have had zero problems. It is my understanding that the 6 cylinder manual variant is, perhaps, the most trouble-free. My question, though, revolves around the the shifter. Sometimes, when I shift into first gear at a stop, I hear and feel a 'clunking' noise coming...
