No start... no crank, no click

I think it’s the DTR/lever position sensor. It was done at an independent transmission shop. Perhaps they did not have the correct tools.

No start... no crank, no click

For kicks, I tried starting the car in neutral. The car started right up, immediately. The transmission was worked on last month, what may have been done/left undone that may be causing it to not start unless in neutral? I did have them replace the neutral safety switch. Perhaps it needs...

No start... no crank, no click

Unfortunately, we took a chance on it yesterday, it started and my wife drove it to work. It would not start again since. It’s at her office. This is the first time we attempted to take it out since the last time it would not start (at a gas station in December) and I had it towed. After having...

No start... no crank, no click

This is an old thread, but still seems valid today for my issues. Is it possible that a starter solinoid may work one moment and not again the next several start attempts? Everything powers up for electronics, battery has great voltage readings. The car has now not started twice after...

    Weird no crank no start

A few days ago I picked my LS up from the mechanic. The car was very low on fuel and I was forced to drive it 2-3 miles with the “0 miles left till empty” message on the screen. No hesitation or stalling. I filled up the tank successfully. When I got back in to leave the gas station, the car...

NOS Ford or rebuilt transmission solenoid?

I see. Maybe I should not have shyed away from it then.

NOS Ford or rebuilt transmission solenoid?

I appreciate all of the input. I ended up just ordering a remanufactured unit. I was thrown off by the part number: XW4”P”-7G391-AF stamped on the new unit vs. the expected: XW4”Z”-7G391-AF. I will do a bit of research and see who may be well received for rebuilding my existing solenoid, and...

NOS Ford or rebuilt transmission solenoid?

The reman unit with 5 yr warranty is $300, the nos is $400. I always seek out oem parts, but I just don’t know when it comes to the transmission solenoid as they commonly were an issue. I know that XW4Z-7G391-AF is a superseded part from what was originally installed back in 2000, so perhaps I...

NOS Ford or rebuilt transmission solenoid?

No, neither are from online eBay listings.

NOS Ford or rebuilt transmission solenoid?

They are both from NOS Parts Source. The remanufactured unit he says comes with a 5 year warranty. I don’t know the brand. I’m just not sure I’m which may be best. In all my experience since 2000…the oem units seemed to be the culprit of its fair share of transmission issues, and if this new oem...

NOS Ford or rebuilt transmission solenoid?

I am needing to replace the transmission solenoid in my 2000 Lincoln LS. I have the option of either a brand new NOS solenoid (not in packaging as it was sold by ford in bulk. I was told that they were likely originally unused parts from the factory floor) or a rebuilt unit? Generally, I...

    Clunk from reverse to park

Sorry that was a typo. My engine does not rev when moving from reverse to park. Just a hard clunk. It’s more tough to get into park from reverse compared to other gears that glide nicely in place.

    Clunk from reverse to park

It does look like their is a gap in the photo. I’m not totally sure though if it’s flush on the other side. I’ll have to get it back up to take a look. Thank you for your suggestions. I am making notes of what you guys have said and I will bring them up to my service adviser when I take it in...

Lincoln FORD OEM 03-06 LS Rear Suspension-Coil Spring 3W4Z5560FA

My 2000 LS is at a Lincoln dealer as I write this. I asked them to look for the part numbers on each spring. Apparently the tags (and therefore part numbers) are no longer on my springs. They too confirmed that my VIN does not pull up which coil springs were originally on my V8 Sport. I would...
