Here is what Lincoln did to mkZ owners. That black half moon decorative piece on the trunk leaks real bad. First pic is partial of the underside of that leaky thing. There are 18 of those clips that fit into slots to hold the thing on. That works but every one of those 18 slots can leak. Next...

Really? I'm not looking for another car I want to fix this one.

I'm a Lincoln fan. Have 3 right now. But I gotta say that I have an mkZ and wish I didn't. The leaks into the trunk in this thing are horrible and not easy to fix. Look on utube for 'mkZ trunk leaking' for a view of what folks with this car face. I'm going to try to fix mine but I dunno...

My issue is definitely due to WATER leaking into the trunk from several different places. It's horrible and to try to fix ... well. Saw 2 youtube videos addressing the issue. One guy pulled the rear bumper off to try to fix one of the leaks. But the water also comes in from the panel on top...

The part that says LS on it. Passenger side rear of fender the extension of the side anti-ding strip for loss of words. My car is a 2001 LS V6 in Autumn Red. Anyone have this little part please contact. TIA.

I may have solved this. At least it has not happened for a couple of months. The weather changed. It was raining almost every day. Sometimes hard. Sometimes long. During a break I looked in the trunk of the Z. Not only was it wet but there was a large infestation of MOLD on the trunk floor...

OK Rock Auto sent replacement. I installed and window goes up and down again. So I took it on the long ride. No problems.

Some more mpg info. Cleaned the MAF sensor. Ran two tanks of Chevron Supreme instead of el cheapo regular. Took her on a 200+ mile round trip on highway. Got 21 mpg. That's about as good as she's ever gotten. Going to keep an eye of her mpg.

Dunno. Next time I'm under there I'll look.

The thing is covered by warrantee! Gonna get a replacement. In meantime gonna see if I can get the motor onto the existing piece.

OK it's the window motor. Tried another and works. Happen to have a motor I pulled off another window mech.
