'88 No No, but my father in law says he did which is why I have a seperate key for the door and the ignition.

Forgot to mention that I did replace the voltage regulator and bought an alternator. The shop that I took it to load tested the alternator and said it was ok, so I told them to put in the voltage regulator anyway.

I think that Chuck Norris had a blower with an on/off switch in a movie from long ago. I think that it was on a Blazer or a Rangler and he used it to escape being burried underground in his truck;) It could happen:rolleyes:

Thanks Awesund, the variable load flasher that I mentioned does click. They even made another one that stated "loud" on the label, but I went for the original which is plenty loud for me.

Thanks OldSchool, I did do research and read about the ignition switch and regulator/alternator combo. Someone also mentioned the solid state switch next to the ignition switch- might as well change that while I'm at it. The alarm was a factory install, don't know how old the battery is- better...

Forgot to mention, the ignition key was very warm to touch on several occasions after turning the car off.
