    Group Buy Forged Rods

Haven't posted in a while, but this will come for some good new, well at least halfway. I have been speaking with Tom Molnar about designing a forged rod for the LS. For those of you who don't know who Tom is, he started Oliver in 81 and K-1 Rods. He left K-1 when wiseco bought them out. He's...

    Issue

They were replaced with new nuts and torqued to spec, and they still came loose. Can you give me an answer to the issue I'm having Joe? I'm sure you have seen this before.

    Issue

I've been checking and tightening as needed. Mine are coming loose too. Even with Loctite Red, the dang nuts still come loose. Seriously I am about to take it to work and tack weld the nuts in place, lol. Everything has been replaced except the control arms. Lowers have no play. Could be the...

    Issue

Ball joints and tie rod ends are done. I am getting tracking left and right pretty bad on the highway especially over bumps? Car will shoot left or right and i have to correct it. Very annoying. Doing control arms next week, but I doubt that's the issue. Anyone ever had this happen? Fixes? Thanks...

You can use the Jag heads, as they are non-VVT for the STRs. Jaguar only made forged pistons for the SC engines. You can try to get a thicker head gasket to lower compression, but it's not the best option. The pistons are the weak link. The Jag guys are making over 500hp on the stock rods. Just...

roverlandparts has crank for below MSRP, any where from 600-900. 4.2 on there now is $750. I always am watching ebay. Last week a set of mint condition 4.2 SC forged pistons were on and gone in 20 mins. Guy was selling them for $300 with a magnaflux reciept.

Which Stock Size Tires Are You Using? Why?

I am running Falken Azenis PT-722 on the LS. I have always ran Falken tires on all of my vehicles. I have never had one hydroplane or really anything. They stick to the ground. Treadwear is outstanding and for a summer ride, these things will hook up hard with just a little chirp. The only...

Point blank, NO supercharged Jag came with VVT. Even now on the RR HSE 4.2 SC, still no VVT. Advancing timing 30* under a forced load would cause a lean burn, big no no. ALL non SC Jags are VVT. If Dwiggy can drop a 302 into an LS, which I am doing too, but building the engine first :D, with the...

    Are these eBay parts legit?

I have an 02 that I'm only doing my second set of coils on in 10 year. Visteon is #1 in my book. Two times in 4 years shows that what you are buying is junk. These cars are finicky enough as is. Throwing on a cheap set of coils is only going to pi.ss it off!!! I swear these cars have feelings...

    Supercharged Question

You can get the heads off of any of the SC jags, as none of them had VVT. Then find a manifold and SC. That would be for the best match up. They still sell the 4.2 forged pistons through jag dealers, but at $250 a pop. The bore is still 86mm, and the piston specs are still the same, minus the...

    Lincoln LS 302

Well I'm getting a 5.8. I may shoot you an email, but I am building EFI all motor. Perfect sleeper for an LS minus the noise. I'd like to speak more on the issue if possible. I can get the gauges and windows to work no problem, it's just seeing how the motor set and where. I'm welder, by trade...

    Just wanted to gauge intrest

Exactly my point. Why go to Kooks or Headman and pay major overhead. If I can pull it off for half that I think it would be a good buy. A full 2.5 inch cat back for half the price of Magnaflow, it would sell well I think. I'm going more budget friendly but with great quality.

    Just wanted to gauge intrest

Lol that's ballpark. It may well be half that. I always go high for some reason. I'm not looking to make much off of a set either, just my time. The intake will be a nice addition. Especially with the filter out of the engine bay. I will be getting parts withing the next 2 weeks.

    Just wanted to gauge intrest

It will be under $1000 for a set. I am working on a close knit design due to the tight fit that these engines are in the bay. It may be well below $1000 once I can price what I will need. I don't want to rape my wallet, and I'm sure that most everyone here doesn't want to either. I am planning...

    Just wanted to gauge intrest

Either. The exhaust setup didnt change in that area. They all use the exact same Log type manifold, as do the jags. As for the gen II intake, I will have to find a Gen II in my area and take measurements, and see what it looks like with the box off.
