just changed timing belt ($2500) on 2000 v8. car is running like crap. misfire feeling 10x. mechanic said i need cam position sensor. just got one from max. anyone done this before? where is it? anyone have pictures of installation and how to? thanks

mechanic just replaced timing chain and did head work for one valve. Just called him and he said there is ticking noise that will probably just clear up. do i have hydraulic lifters that were dry and now the engine just needs to run for a while?

For now it's just the chain and tensioners. when they take everything apart who knows?

JUST GOT WORD FROM MECHANIC. he said the timing chain is busted. BIG job. losing my mind

History on the car is that i had it since mile one. i had it special ordered 6 months before any ls was on the road. babied the car all the way. car started sputtering one day and then after i parked it , it would not start again. thought it was a simple fuel problem but nope. they got the car...

i just gotta figure out if they did it right b/c all they did was a compression test i am assuming. i think i should get a second opinion b/c they never gave me a full report on why and exactly what's wrong. and that engine quik is out of canada and ebay so it's a stretch
