But seriously I have been looking at a new vehicle or another used that gets better MPG. Driving by a different used car dealer than the one I work with I saw a Black on Black LS that looked incredible

Just can't bring myself to buy a 4 door vehicle again. Hate having people want to all pile in my car cause I have room. So everyone yell at me to NOT BUY an LS

Actually thought of a Mustang but I know I will destroy any ability for it to get good gas milage along with not being able to live down the fact that I bought one

When you said "L" I got excited cause I thought you were talking about a town car L .
Now that I know you were talking about a LS I say why it doesn't get better gas mileage than the mark its less reliable.

Yeah I just now saw that the S is missing on the title. Funnier is that an L is a Subaru designation and I would love to pick up a nice L but that ain't happening either.

Love to get a new Challenger but getting a V6 powered one is so anti why I want a Challenger :shifty: Corvettes get good milage but they are a speeding ticket waiting to be picked off by the Troopers.

Maybe I should throw a diesel in my Mark like someone on her was gonna do

Hahahaha! That would be interesting....

LS's don't get good MPG. I have a v6 one and even that does not and you have to run premium in all LS's.

I have an aquiantance with a White LS with Dubs on it that claims it gets 21mpg average. Then again he lost his DL on a second DWI and UPS fired his dumb ass. So I'll take it that he was delusional then?

My Mark don't run on regular tho so no difference on that part then

I used to get 24mpg avg with my ls. It was mostly highway. As for hauling people with it they will ride with ya once and never want to again. The back is small.

I like them. They feel sporty but yes bad gas milage for there class, below average reliability, Lack of performance parts, and no room in back. All and all I'm sticking with my Marks.

I just wanted you to know that LS need 91+ they will throw CEL. Also my V6 gets like 16-18 maybe around town my super mk8 LOL gets 14.

You can't beat the reliability, room, and cheap maintenance a Town Car offers. Thay also love regular gas!

There was a Mafia Don Black one for sale dirt cheap with mass miles on it a few years back. Wanted to throw in my spare DOHC but decided better things to do.

The LS has its pros and cons.

Yes it gets bad gas mileage but its a luxury performance rwd sedan. The V8 and V6 get similar mileage. The back sucks indeed and its very cramped but the seats are comfortable. The difference between a full tank of regular vs premium is what $5? Not enough to bitch about. No matter what you will pay over $50 to fill any car up with todays fuel prices.

Front seats are even better and very spacious...im a big guy at 6feet and 260 pounds and i have plenty of room. A black on black LS with some nice wheels will get plenty of stares.

Aftermarket is very limited but we get very creative over there. The tranny can be built up as its the same as the 05+ mustangs. And theres several intake and exhaust options.

As far as reliability, its all about replacing what hasnt been replaced before. The coils/plugs once replaced will last a very long time granted the gaskets are good.

The cooling system is pressurized and parts will need to be replaced. But once replaced again they will last a long time.

In my two years i have not had any serious issues and have only done routine maintenance. Its at 75K and runs very well. Oil always comes out clean and all i have replaced are theromstat, belt, pulley, tensioner, coils, plugs. Battery and tires were replaced because they were still original from factory when i bought the car. Brakes were done also but again routine stuff.

And LS's can come with factory HID's which are sweet. The engine is a small V8 but it has a good amount of power and it is still a DOHC 32V with 280 crank HP. Sure we would have liked a 4.6 mod motor but it is what it is. I can still drive like a douche and run low 15's all day long.

Again we did not buy our LS's becuase they have four doors. If they were made in a 2 door i would have bought it instead. They are just downright sexy vehicles. Dont let the V6 base LS's on 16" stock wheels that are all beatup and driven by old people distort the beauty of these cars.

And yes they look like BMW's because they were designed by a German guy as a direct competitor to the 5 series.

Ls's are growing on me thanks to the guys on the other side. I wouldn't consider one unless it was a fully loaded gen2 and a steal though.

Black out the grille and that is what I was looking at when I saw the car sitting in the dealer lot. Looked good driving by :D
