My engine is stuttering under load.... Kidding lol.

I've been looking at two LSs, one an 05, one an 06.

The 05 has less miles and the options I want including hids. Is it worth it to go with an 06 over the 05 just because its the 06. Thoughts?

Okay....do not be a thread hog like Iivan over the same topic. Your other thread is fresh enough to add onto. LOL.

Buy the 06 if your pockets will allow. If not, there is no reason not to buy an 05.

I'll offer a counter opinion. Go with the 05. It sounds like it is closer to what you want, and if it has less than 100K miles, it will still have the coils under warranty. (No extended coil warranty on the 06s.)

if you could find an 05 LSE you'd be golden. Get the 06 looks (more or less) and you're still covered by the coil warranty. Of course its a trade off. I think there are more exterior color options with the 06s right? For instance, i don't think there was an 05 Ceramic white pearl LSE was there?

EDIT: i overlooked your last thread otherwise i would have been on your case about multiple threads regarding the same topic :bash:

Yeah I suppose it was similar enough to have a single thread. Sorry. Has a few glasses of Scotch tonight so didn't really think about it ;p

I know, i said if he could find an 05 LSE that he liked, he would get the 06 looks and still have the coil warranty.

Ohhhhhhh....... I see said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw.

So mechanically there isn't really a reason to want a 06 over 05 of equal miles

Not really. Anecdotal evidence says the '06 is the best of the bunch. Maybe the line workers actually cared at the end....

And at the very(very) beginning. LOL. Mine is a very early 2000 and has given me very few issues.

I just got an '06 with 43166 miles. There are a few things that make me wonder. One is why some seem to think the car is slow. Sometimes I get this surging effect kind of like what you get with the old cars when you retard the timing too much. Another is the poor fuel mileage. I really have to nurse her around town to get decent fuel economy on the street. I think it may be the cam setup. She seems to be very high strung and really ready to go from stop lights.
