First post but been a member for a few months now since I finally bought my first ls. Fell in love with the style of this car when it first came out in 2000. Took me a while to buy one but better late than never. I have a 2004 V6 (cashmere) looking to do a couple of modifications soon so questions, I have plenty. Can anyone tell me if I get some wheels, 18x8 to be exact, I think I like a Helo he845 to be exact, do I have to do anything special to use them instead of the stock 16" or can I just put them on no problem. Does anyone have pics of a car with those rims or similar? Also is there anyway I can put a LSE grille on the V6 or another chrome grille that might be available. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Best and easiest way to track down a wheel fitment issue and its fool proof and doesn't cost much. I used to test all of my Supras this way before dyno pulls and tuning. Take the lug nuts off of the inlet side. Get a PVC cap from the harware store and a valve stem from the auto store. Try to find a cap that is as flat as possible. Drill out the center of the cap to the correct size to fit the valve stem and install with rubber cement and allow to dry. Install onto lower side of the rim and clamp it to the silicone. Use a compressor to charge your system to at least 15-20 psi. This should be WAY over what you would run. Once it is charged, listen for hissing. Also it would be wise to pick up a tire pressure guage that has a dial on it so you can keep an eye on the charge. Even if you can't hear the hissing, and the pressure is dropping, there is still a wheel fitment leak coming from somewhere. You can mix a heavy solution of soap to water in a spray bottle and spray it onto your connections too. Any little bit helps when tracking down a wheel fitment issue.
 
All LS grilles are interchangeable. The LSE grille can be had new for well under $200. The rare, and in my case highly sought after, discontinuted McLaren grille can be upwards of $400 when they show up on Ebay.

For your wheels the bolt pattern will fit if they a are 5 x 108mm bolt hole pattern. If not you will need adapters. Some people have run these without a problem but I'd prefer a wheel I liked with the proper bolt pattern.

If it's a rubbing issue you are worried about that depends on the width and offset which I don't care to learn since i don't plan on a wheel purchase anytime soon. There calculators online to help determine if you'll be rubbing.

This is a wheel fitment issue my friend, not a boost leak issue. The same would apply though to an air leak though. Member is looking for wheel fitment.

Pretty sure it was sarcasm. I thought he accidentally posted in the wrong thread until i saw he went through the trouble to insert "wheel fitment" instead of turbo pressure leak. Oh well, I appreciated it :)

well since it hasnt been said yet, i guess i'll jump on it, the search is your friend, as a new member, every question you are going to ask has already been answered for you. just take a look around and you even find the answers to the questions that you didn't even know that you needed to ask yet.

Thank you gentlemen for the insight and the little video. I now understand the rules and regulations of this forum. By the way what is sarcasm is it a mod I don't know about. Is it OK to post about that? I will one day post some pics of my ls and hope I can impress some of you guys with it.

also note of importance, its right next to the tech articles, which is a great place to start to look any time you need instructions on how do do something. there are some nice step by steps in there that are common for people to ask about.
