So this part of my interior lining hangs where the brake light is. Is this common and is there any way to fix it? It just looks kind of sloppy and I think it's causing a rattle when my subs are hitting hard. Not to mention it hinders my rear view. I've thought about hot gluing or double sided taping it. Thoughts, suggestions?

If its just the cloth, a light application of spray adhesive. Too much may bleed through the material. If its the whole piece, maybe some polyurethane construction adhesive will keep it up if there are broken clips.

I don't think spray adhesive will do the trick. I've used a lot of it in my day and that stuff is not very strong.

No offense, but if you search, you will see that the headliner becoming detached at the third brake light on gen II is a very common problem. I would even venture to say that it has hit all gen II by now.

The solution is to glue it back up. I've had to do it to both of mine.

@Joe Thanks, and I've given up on search. Every time I search I never find what I'm looking for.

Yeah and what did you type in for your search? That's the biggest factor. If you don't know what to search for you get pages of irrelevant posts, and it's faster for me to just make a new post. Sure if you know EXACTLY what you're looking for the answer will pop right up but more often then not I don't know what to search for to get the answer I need.

If you feel up underneath there you can feel that it's supposed to be held up by velcro, so just remove old and put new on.

i recommend using heavy duty velcro, i used the plastic stuff, not the fuzzy weak stuff.

also dont just use the peel and stick part of the velcro as it will probably just fall back down after a couple of hot days.

i used 5 minute epoxy to hold it as epoxy is not effected by heat (at least the kind of heat that it will see from air temp inside the car), put it on the pieces and put one piece on the top, then the other on the bottom but do not stick the two pieces together, let it harden for a day then stick them together. i did this the first day i got my 03, and it has been hanging tough for three years now.

headliner

when searching, try to use a few words as possible, also the words have to be at least four letters. the more words you use the more useless threads will get returned. keep it as simple as possible and just stick to the main keywords.

also for the first round, just search through thread titles and not all of the post as this will help to keep the search results easy to go through.

I did this exact same thing actually. Needed to use like 6 heavy duty velcro strips though but it hasnt been an issue since

Cant really see mine with the rear tint being so dark unless you look for it.

I have the same problem buddy. The only time that it bothers me is when the windows are down and the headliner starts flopping.

Heavy duty velcro along the back will fix it as suggested and is the route I plan to take.
