replacing coil

I tried to replace one coil today, but the bolts that hold on the cover would only spin, never would come out. What's the problem? Thanks

The part that the screw screws into my be free spinning within the plastic. I have 2 that do that on my passenger side. I remove all other screws and pull the free spinning ones straight out with the coil cover.

Thanks for the reply, 1 screw was completely missing and the other 5 just turn. So it's okay just to pry/pull off the cover and push it back in place when done. Thanks

That's what I do. Some members leave the coil covers off.

You must replace the spark plug too.

Bad coil damages plug.

Damaged plug is now bad.

Bad plug damages coil.

Damaged coil is now bad.

Repeat...
