So my car put someone in the hopital

Some of you may read this know that my car was in the shop for a new alternator. Well because I am currently in a state police academy the car stays at the dealer all week and I pick it up on the weekends.

So last night on Friday I call the dealer to tell them I am coming in to pick it up and they tell me they need to set me up with a vehicle for me to drive. I am like "What happened?". She informs me that somehow during the process of replacing the alternator a high pressure HV/AC line sprayed refrigerant all over some employees face, and now he is in the hospital.

She was really friendly (obviously) and tells me that I wont have to pay anything, including this car for me to drive. Man I tell you I am really getting frustrated.

I hope the employees OK. I'd ask them why they can't give you your car, but it's probably because they're waiting on parts for the refrigerant line. At least they're doing the right thing for you and comping the rental.

lol COLD? then i guess im cold as ice bro but if i give my car to a shop and he sticks his hand inside my fan while its running and loses some fingers, im not going to send the shop a card and flowers because their mechanic made a mistake and injured himself. a high pressured hvac line doesnt disconnect itself and shoot coolant all over a mechanics face unless he did something or made a mistake. regardless, i told him to say sorry i wasnt being "cold" in any way wicked. id be upset my car isnt done and all the other mechanics couldnt finish a simple alternator replacement.

Yeah the payed the whole rental, they have been nothing but nice to me so I don't feel shafted at all. Yes they are waiting for the refrigerant line now. There was a truck on the rack two racks down from my car and the entire side was covered in slimy fluid. The pressure was high enough to send it all over that car 2 racks away, so I can only imagine how that felt on the guys face. He was wearing goggles so he is okay, which is the good thing.


They only thing I am upset about is that my beloved LS is being replaced by a mega :q:q:q:qty 2011 Dodge Avenger. It is mind boggling slow.

I'm sure he's not quite "OK" since he still in the hospital. PAG 46 and R134a escaping isn't too kind to skin or eyes, even with goggles. When an A/C line breaks on an LS it makes for a good plume.
