2002 ls alternator

It seems that maybe the LS PCM communicates differently with the alternator than most other Ford PCMs do. This will cause problems if they aren't aware of it.
All they do is alternators. That is why I said call, because everyone trying to go HO without a rectifier seems to be frying alternators. Maybe the PCM has some type of voltage or amp regulation? I will be calling myself soon, once I finish getting the money together for a rebuild.

Most alternators do all the control within the alt itself - there's a sense wire for it to measure voltage at another location, like a primary positive junction, and it regulates internally to keep that junction at a set-point.
It's pretty clear the LS alternator is not like that. Rather, the PCM plays some active role in the alt output.
