a different wiper issue

on my 03 ls my wipers just recently started wiping one time every time i start the car wet or dry, aggravating i did also recently use rain-x from reading other wiper posts i wondered if that could be the culprit is the sensor thr red light in the middle of the dash?

The sensor is the box attached to the windshield right behind the rear-view mirror.

I thought that was normal operation for the auto setting.

That is the normal operation, one swipe at start up, with it in the on position. If you don't like that turn it off, and only turn on when it is raining.

I think this is normal, but just to be sure double-check that the connector running into the sensor is fully inserted. I had mine come a little loose which caused random swiping, and it went away when I got the connector fully inserted again.
