Ok yesterday I was down in MD and I was taking my aunt to the doctors and when I when to punch it it diddent down shift or pick up speed as fast as usual than like 10 seconds latter I did it again and it down shifted but, midway through the speed increse an E came up on the gear selector and Check transmission came up on the Message Center and the trans was popping going into 3rd gear. It stayed that way until halfway back to my aunts than just went away and was ok today.

Now today i left my house got up to 15 or 20MPH when to hit my breaks to go over a speed bump and the ABS was going off with the Advance Trac light blinking than did it two more times than went away.

Could a wheel speed sensor possibly cause this issue or what.

Also from time to time the Traction Control kicks on accell and I dident feel any wheel spin matter of fact it was dry every time its done that in the last week.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Similar issue

I am also experiencing a similar problem. I'm self diagnosing the problem as a short under my dashboard, possibly the ignition switch. I write this because when I'm driving and the ABS light along with the traction control light and the break light are on my car sounds quiet,no noise inside the car, however, as soon as I begin to hear what sounds like an electrical short, I turn off the car and restart, to my amazement whatever is shorting out is making contact, therefore setting my car back to normal, but I'm still hearing the sound of electrical short while the car is "normal" I've checked fuses, I've replaced abs sensors, and even removed the dash all together to rule out any electrical wires that are behind the cluster as bad.

See if you have this problem, heck I've even lost the ability to open my trunk from the remote at times when the car is in this dang "E" fail safe mode.

Well so far non of that so far I mean when the trans went into "E" I had all gears, everything worked fine no lights came on the dash nothing just the "E" and Check Transmission. Now as far as the Advance Trac goes it only happens from time to time like very random you know.

E-mode

Well still having issues, I'm trying to pinpoint the noise coming from under the dash, I've come across a new issue as well, at times my remote key entry won't pop the trunk, I'll have to manually open to get it open. I read elsewhere it may be my PCM, since it's not over heating, and my breaks aren't going nuts.
Any more ideas as to where this problem may be? Does anyone know where the PCM is? Ugggg!! Help!

The PCM is not involved with the trunk release at all. The DDM and REM and involved with that. DDM = Driver's Door Module, in the driver's door. REM = Rear Electronics Module in the trunk. Note that the REM also controls the fuel pump.

What are your "breaks"?

Why would you expect your brakes to go "nuts"?

The PCM is on the interior of the firewall, right about behind the glove box.

Isn't it mentioned else where on the site that a failing battery could be the culprit of the abs light, tc light, and other errors to spontaneously come up? This sounds a little more complicated than that but if that's what it is it's cheaper to get the battery tested to rule that out than any other route.

So I finally caved and took the car to the dealer, they diagnosed for 65 bucks, not bad they came back saying its bad coils, which may make sense, since I've never changed out the coils , 185k on the road, yea it may be time for a change. Furthermore they located a vacuume leak on the intake manifold, well since I have to change the coils, I'll change them too.
But could bad coils cause electrical shorts elsewhere in the car? That sound I heard under the dash, could that be a cause of bad coils? Is the LS that sensitive that coils can cause so much havoc on the electrical system?

went to the dealer, they diagnosed bad coils could cause a short in the electrical system, plus they found a manifold leak
Replaced all 6 coils, new seals, and I bought a new battery. Good news is..the check engine light is off and hasn't come on all day.
Bad news is the ABS light is still on along with my Traction control light and the break light, setting off the (service P) light. And still operating in fail safe mode.
I can still hear the sound of electrical shorting coming from under the dash, and my left break light keeps blowing out.
Anyone solve this issue?

You have a separate issue. You need to go back to the dealer and explain your current symptoms. You will have to pay the diagnostic fee again, but I think it is your best shot. You seem to be a little over your head, and unable to tell your car brakes from your bad breaks.

Joe, it's an off and on thing with this. I noticed when I make a sharp left turn, my problem disappears briefly until I come out of that turn, could low break fluid be the cause of this? I checked the fluid looks full, I'm going to add some more fluid.

My advice stands, and I have no idea what "break" fluid is or what it being low might cause.

The red anti theft light kept blinking, 6...1 then did it all over again, it's never done this, anyone know what this means? Is this what is known as PATS?

It's blinking 1 - 6, not 6 - 1.

PATS code 16 is about communications failure between the cluster and the PCM. Usually this is because the PCM power relay or its socket is bad. The relay is in the trunk.

In your case, it is probably a wiring issue under the dash instead. Take it in and get it diagnosed before it catches on fire.
