Small Oil Leak.

I have 2 small oil leaks coming from 2 sensors on the valve cover (pictured). My question is, does the Fel Pro VCG include these gaskets also or does the sensor have the seal built on it? If the Fel Pro VCG comes with it then my mechanic didn't replace those. If it's built on the sensor, what's it called and can I buy one from a local auto store?

Those are the VCT solenoids (also frequently called VCT sensors even though they aren't sensing anything). These solenoids control valve (cam) timing.
There's an o-ring seal for each. I don't know if they are included in the aftermarket gasket kits.

IF you cant find it from a parts store/ dealer (Try max)... you could play around with just an universal ring...

Thinks guys. I'll look into replacing the sensor and/or just the o-ring

I had one start leaking on my 04. Replacement of only the o-ring fixed it. (On both my 04 and my 06, both seep a very small amount of oil around the VCT solenoids. One of them on the 04 increased to where you could actually smell oil burning. It was then that I replaced the o-ring.)

I don't like the look of the oil on the engine lol. Do you recall what size o-rings?

Ok, I have the o-rings. Now how do I take the sensor out? I see the round plastic piece has notches on it for a tool. Can I use a screwdriver to take it off?

Maybe I missed something, but I didn't see any way to replace the seal without removing the valve cover. Once you do, there's no need to remove the VCT solenoid or assembly (looked like that would be a lot of work).

I'll take it back to the mechanic that replaced my VCG and have him do it. Since they're leaking he'll do it for free since he didn't replace them when he did that VCG.

Thanks for the help Joe.

Which size o-rings? one of mine is leaking too.

I went to my local O'Reilly's and the guy grabbed an o-ring kit and seen which ones fit over the sensor snugly. He gave me about 10 total with different sizes.

He didn't charge me for them so I didn't step back into the store. I do recall seeing something about the number 20 on the kit where he took the best one that fit.
