I'm having small coil on plug issues again. In my experience it's the boots that fail more than the actual coils do. 90% of the time the car's misfire can be fixed by installing a new boot and new spark plug. I'm getting ready to do this again, but I'm going to add a little more insulation to the coil/boot and to seal the actual joint between the coil and boot.
Rescue tape/self vulcanizing tape is perfect for this application with high dielectric strength and outstanding heat resistance. There are several manufacturers, but here is one made by MSD.. MSD markets it specifically for this application.
The car's in the trans shop right now, but I'll update this thread as I actually do this. Any thoughts?
