Someone posted this grille on here years ago and I have no idea if I could find it already painted this way, or if I have to get it painted. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

It appears to be a 2002 lse grille. No longer in production. These grilles do show up for sale but somewhat infrequently. Expect to paint if you do not find one in black to begin with.
 
Are those bars chrome? If so, its an lse grille/2006 grille. Try ebay, craigslist, or maxx (ford ad on right)

Can't one just spray the waterfall of the grille gray and have a gen one lse grille? Or get a gen two grille and colormatch the chrome, then paint the bars gray...
 
I would say yes. Never thought about reversing the process when typing out my response. Good call.
 
I had to ask, because everytime i read that someone wants a gen one lse grille i just think, why pay so much for gray bars? I would try it on mine, but i dont care for gen one lse's. I still want to get some chrome bars lol

That's a painted GenII grille. You can tell by the painted surround. The 1st gens had just a "cap" over the waterfall.
 
+1 it just looks like a 2nd gen with the chrome painted to colormatch.... Not sure what you mean by the 1st gen "cap" but 1st gens chrome dod not surround the entire grille... First gen grills are assembled as two pieces, chrome top attaches to the plastic waterfalls... IIRC...

To the OP.. a few of use color match the OEM non LSE/06 grille....(more sportier look)

I'm pretty sure it's the same grille I have right now, just with the chrome painted. The middle is just plastic, I think. I'm actually looking for all black chrome if they make it. Yours actually looks like exactly what I'm looking for. Did you buy it with that grille?

That's what I meant by "cap".
 
Yes, that will go on your '03. All grilles are interchangeable. D'nyce's grille I'm pretty sure is just painted. Thats what I did to my '05. I was sick of the cheap looking chrome with grey plastic so I painted it all black along with the rear surround. Much cleaner look IMO.
 
Ouch! Just bought the 03 OEM replacement grille haha.. Color matched would have been a good option i suppose. i would have needed to look for pics to be sure but too late now. i actually dont mind the look of the grille at all however. i like the silver/chrome thing, just not the chome on the bumpers! but my 03 doesnt have that thankfully. (no offence to anyone)
