Tokico Blues Cheap on PartsTrian with code

If I hadn't just bought wheels today they'd be mine. When does the code expire?
 
I really would like to find a adjustable set for a low price. So I could set them on soft at the drag strip and then on firm for the street.

Don, I heard you are on a conversion. What are you running for suspension out of curiosity?? <BTW, you're another reason that I figured coils can't be THAT bad for running at the strip. A supercharged Mark VIII can run mid 11s on coils. Nuff said. ;) I've gone to the dark side and there's no turning back now.
 
Mine came with a cheap standard height coil conversion. I've changed a couple Marks and even tried a 1 1/2" lowered set and they were all to soft with week shocks. Barry cut my std height coils for me to the height I wanted. The front shocks are to soft for my taste on the street but work great at the drag strip. Thats why I would like a set of adjustable. My Mark before this one I put in the 1 1/2" lowered conversion and I put my slightly used 03 Cobra shocks in the back of it and they worked good. I plan to do the same to the Mark I have now. Right now I have small spacers in the rear to firm it up but with out lifting it. There are better options with Thunderbird after market springs and struts(shocks). Thats what Burbank98LSC runs with in the 10's. But he also took out the front sway bar and I really don't want to go that far. I also want mine to handle when I want it to.

That'd be awesome. Unfortunately, it says:

That's a bummer. I'd like to get a set of adjustable shocks for the front and rear and a set of T-Bird TC or SC adjuster solenoids wired into a switch on the dash so I could switch from soft to firm on the fly.

Interesting. I've seen them available at several sources. Here, ebay, amazon, and the list goes on. :confused:

Yeah, I was wondering about that, but then again when I recently spoke to him on the phone about suspension when he PM'd me his number he was about 3 sheets to the wind and overly talkative so I wasn't sure what to think about it all. :rolleyes:

I looked it up in a old thread because I couldn't remember who it was that said they took the adjustable shocks out of a SC and put them in a Mustang on a manual switch and tada it was you. And I thought I was going to help.

Easy enough to do, but I can tell you from experience that even set to firm, the front Tokico Illumina shocks aren't firm enough to stop the front end from wallowing.
 
talk to Jamie he put the vogtland springs don't recall the shocks/struts

Yep. I put the shocks/struts from my wrecked '88 Turbo Coupe into my 4-cylinder/5-speed '87 Mustang and wired a rocker switch to the dash under the radio. I also used the Turbo Coupe's sway bars, rear end, brake hardware, and wheels on that Mustang. It worked nicely. Everything bolted up. The only problem I had was a little tire rub on the rear fenders because the T-Bird rear end is wider than the Mustang's. But the car's handling was vastly improved over stock. Although the stock 88hp 2.3L just wasn't up to the challenge. Even with an open air filter, '79 Mustang tubular header, and TC dual exhaust with glasspacks. That was a fun little car.

Sorry to go off topic, but that brought back some cool memories.:)

I was hoping you were wrong. :rolleyes:

So I called the place out of curiosity and after being transferred by some foreigner to another foreigner in the customer service department, he told me I will be receiving an email stating the order is on hold. If they are indeed discontinued, they obviously are not willing to admit it yet because he claims they are searching other warehouses. What a bunch of chit. So now I am going to be wanting to get this all done with and now I have to wait on these clowns. He rambled something about quality issues when I told him the website claims they are in stock.

So, if this doesn't work, now I wonder if the ebay seller has them on hand? I guess I'll wait on partstrain for a bit and if that falls through, I'll be checking these other sources.

Lesson: CALL or EMAIL your sources first before placing an order and assuming that they have their act together and actually have the product in stock. :rolleyes:
 
I have the Tokico Illumina shocks all the way around, they are set to firm and I like them a lot. Don't regret putting them on at all.

Nothing personal, but I would never buy ANYTHING from one of those shady looking websites like partstrain (again). I once placed an order on one to save $10 on an item and in about 3 weeks, complained when I hadn't received anything, then the credit card I used to purchase the item got reimbursed.
