I looked on fleabay and there are 1997 (1) ballast feeds both lights and another seller selling 1997 2pc ballast where there is a L and a R??

EDIT the 2pcs was a 1996 Gen1 ballasts!!!

I just checked car and looks like one but like mentioned 2 might be bolted together, hard to see looking into car. All wires for both bulbs coming off the one unit.

It could be back to back, it's been a while since I did the conversion. All I know is that they are mounted together in some fashion.

i will have it out in a min. i will tell you exactly what it looks like

So to answer your ? yes one ballast can go bad because there are 2.

If you end up needing a ballast and can wait I'll be in Wichita mid feb I'm pulling mine to go aftermarket. That both work as well as the bulbs. Once out I'll be posting them for sale.

Throw that crap out and buy a DDM kit. Save yourself the headache.

True dat. A/m hid kit +adapter will run you 100~. Sell each working bulb for 100 and you'll still come out on top 100 bucks with a brand new setup.

Feel like i've written that a million times.

I just put 4 of the 4500k ddm bulbs in my '93, slim ballast kits, 2 sets of relayed harnesses and it works phenominally
