LS 2000 V6 upgrades

I have a LS 2000 V6 I know is not the V8, but I want to incorporate good performance upgrades. I already took care of part of the suspension by replacing the lower and upper ball joints in the front. I just bought the sway bar links and I will install it this week. I love that car I want to keep it as a Project. So If anyone knows of good performance mods for a v6 let me know, and also which I am trying to figure out which struts and shock absorbers I should buy.
The Idea is to install a whole new suspension system.
 
Put one of those cold air intakes on it. I did it to my V6 and while I don't know if it goes any faster, has a nice sound to it. Stick with OEM struts; you can find them reasonable on Ebay from time to time. Max (search for him on here) can help you with anything OEM.
 
There is a guy named torrie that does tunes you will need the xcal tuner and he will sell you the tune programs to load to your car,

Now before you run out and buy one double check that he has one for the v-6, that I do not know.

also there are several brake rotor kits out there with stainless lines.

Another mod I have heard is running accel cobra coils on the plugs, not sure how beneficial they are but its something to do.

And finally look up Alax he has a turbo project going on with his v-6

other than that its what you can come up with on your own and what you think is cool.

When I got to the part about Alax V-6 I was like WTF!!
 
Yaya I think we have established Alax has a V8 by now

Not sure why you want to do a whole new suspension as I thought the supension on the LS was quite nice, jaguar components and whatnot. I had a buddy who works on european cars almost exclusively take a look at the suspension of my 2003 V8 and told it was a very high quality system. That being said the mods you've made so far sound quite reasonable. Performance recommendations mentioned above sound solid. If you are looking to get crazier than that the duratec 3.0s actually probably have a better aftermarket than our V8s due to them being more commonly used in other vehicles than the short-lived LS.

edit: actually mercury cougar owners might be more interested in performance
 
I could have sworn it was a v-6 but either way it its still an option if he has the money
 
Not really 2002. There are fuel injector obstacles with the gen 1 that make forced air EXTREMELY difficult to do. I learned this when Alax began his project because I was truly about to go through Alax's people while my engine was being built in Cali(before being shipped to me in Ohio).

Not worth the money to figure out.
 
best performance options for a 6er would be a bottle, blower, a big snail, or a for sale sign.

i wouldn't say extremely difficult to do, just not cheap. you would just have to have somebody do what quik had to do and just make a custom intake manifold, which any good fabricator should be able to do. also something i would highly consider with any forced air setup on any car with a plastic intake. ive seen more that a couple of ford motors blow chunks out of the intake from a small backfire. not saying it would blow up, just saying its a piece of the design that i dont think should be plastic in a F/I application.
 
Trust me I know all about it I asked Lou about all that that's why I said with enough money he could have a turbo
 
I guess my confusion Loud comes from a conversation with another member as well as my engine builder who each said the o ring issue with the gen 1 fuel injector causes headaches quickly. That is why I used the word extremely. May not have been the most applicable choice of verbiage but maybe not that far off either. I agree, the intake issue is an easy, but not exactly cheap, fix.
 
does anybody even know if the 3.0 even uses the same air assisted BS? it would be nice if it didn't have it.

if it wasn't a plastic intake, i would probably spend a little more time worrying about it. but since it is, i would just build or have built a new one and throw some cobra injectors in there and call it a day. its just one of the things you deal with when making a custom turbo (or SC) system. there is a reason that they say F/I doesnt come around cheap!
