i have a 2002 lincoln ls base v8 and i want to replace rear mufflers, do any of you know the stock piping size i need to replace rear mufflers?

It's 2 inch, are you going for loud or just replacement if you want loud do 2.25 all the way from the cats to new mufflers that's what I have with flowmaster super 44's and I love it

Also for best fit you need center in offset out

Since it's the same sort of question what is the size for a 2003 Gen.2 V8? I've heard several different sizes ranging from 2 to 2 1/2

I thought out had to be center, unless you did offset in and offset out to flip it up into the bumper.

i was told if i wanted to get magnaflow performance mufflers i would need to get 2.25 pipe offset in center out... but ive seen so many different sizes of pipe i just didnt know. if i have 2in pipe would 2.25 fit?

I had mufflers installed almost 2 years ago and used Magnaflow mufflers. I used 2.25 and unfortunately when my mechanic went to install them, it required a bit extra work since my pipe was 2" The 2.25 will fit but requires a bit more work. Don't hold me to this, and if you want, I can try to find part numbers, but I believe the Magnaflow mufflers I used were center in/offset out. I also believe that they could be installed either way. I also believe that the muffler I used wasn't made in a 2in...

yea i was told u need like extra clamps and like a steel wrap or somethin. i plan on doing it all my self since i have a hoist and welder

this has been debated many times before... It seems either people can read, or factory exhaust changed from year to year (between 2 and 2.25). only way to know for sure is climb under and change it yourself, or have your shop do it... I believe its all 2" on a 1 gen...

i called auto zone and the guy said my car needs 2.25 but im doubting it, idk how to check tho lol like how do you measure it?

It is 2.25 up to the resonators, then 2 inch from resonators to the mufflers. I have center in offset out mufflers on my mine and they tuck pretty well. although the out side is lower so that means the exhaust cut outs will be lower.

ok so im going to order the 2" mufflers i posted. becuase many ppl have said 2"

LOL
