Decided to finally do a J-Mod and install a temp sensor in my LPW pan.

After looking for it a bit, I did some research and found that '98 4R70W's don't have the screen (1st pic) that the earlier transmissions had.

Discovered that the lower 1/2 spring was broken in half (2nd pic), which probably accounts for the rather harsh low speed 1/2 shifts the car has had since I got it.

Retune later, as it was raining here today.

Sweet!

I need to change the accum. spring in my TBird. It slams into 2nd gear too. :( It was fun when I would make the wheels screech at WOT into 2nd, but the clutches have probably worn out and no longer does it.

what is the BE controls calibration kit anyway?
sounds like a shift kit, a good one maybe, but still a shift kit.

Baumann Electronic. I've heard good things about that kit too. Someone was saying that it is similar in genetics to the JMOD.

Yes becontrols was also founded buy an engineer who worked on the 4r70w.
It does the same thing as the j-mod but also deals with torque correction to help the life and power holding capability of the transmission by changing a valve, springs and spacers in the valve body.
This is from memory without looking at the manual. Also offers more choices calibrating the shifts.

DLF, did some research or some of the tranny gurus on TCCoA tell you about the screen? I guess that IS research, in a way ;)
