I have a few things that need to be replaced on my 2004 LS and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction or at least the proper threads covering the issues.

1) I need to replace the Rain sensor on the windsheild.

2) Need to replace the light sensor in the dash.

3) Ive been reading about the heated and cooled front seats and keep hearing about a filter that gets clogged and needs to be changed. Well i felt under the driver seat today and all i can feel are 2 canister type items under there, nothing resembling a filter of sorts. Anyone know a part number on the seat filters?

Go to the top of the page under TECH ARTICLES, and down load the OWNERS MANUAL, it will show you the seat filters, I just blow them out with canned air. The filter is a round plastic grid about the size of an jar lid with a filter material on one side that twists in and out. You do it once by looking then you can do it just by feel.

Why do you feel you need to change the light sensor on the dash?

my head lights dont Auto turn on or off when in Auto mode...they just turn on and stay on no matter what time of day or night...now i don't mind my lights being on, but it puts the nav system in night mode ALL the time unless i turn the headlights off manually. Also thank you, ive been looking for the Tech articles in the forum, not on a tab LOL. That will help.

Make sure you don't have something blocking the sensor, it shares the same small red dome with the alarm armed flashing light in the middle of the dash, next to the windshield.

As to buying OEM parts, or needing parts numbers, try MAXX at Five Star Ford, and mention you are a member of LVC for a discount, they are a site sponsor=======>

On the nav setup screen, there is an option to set the screen to always be in day mode. Also, there are voice commands to set day or night mode (overriding the headlight input).

Here's the how-to on replacing the light sensor. It's pretty easy.

I had exactly the same problem, and it was fixed by replacing the light sensor.
