I'm looking at getting these control arms from Rockauto.com.

I know I have to replace the nuts for the bushings. Do I also have to replace the bolts?

The bushings is what was causing the clunking sound (sounded like tire was coming off). It's cheaper to go with those arms instead of just replacing the bushings and ball joints. Can I replace the bushings alone, if so where can I find them cheap?

Any advice will help since my car has been on jack stands going on 2 weeks now.

EDIT: To save some money. Would it be ok to just change the one giving me issues? The passenger side isn't making any noise and when I shook it, it didn't move at all. When I shook the driver side it moved and made a clunking sound.

:) Might want to get the front end aligned after swapping out the arm, but others will hopefully chime in on that subject.

That's what I was told. I just had a four wheel alignment about 3 weeks ago :(.

Im actually wanting to do this myself im going to try max first for OEM first and see for pricing.

What I have been told for using aftermarket you would have the lower control arm to match as well?? not really sure.

Any time you bolt/unbolt the control arms you are supposed to get an alignment done. That's the rule of thumb anyways. Can you get by without doing one? Sure. But a lot of places will check the alignment for free. Worse case scenario it doesn't cost you anything, worse case scenario you need it done.

It also shouldn't matter if you replace one or both UCA, as the alignment will fix whatever it ends up being out of whack. Since the UCA is not adjustable in aftermarket, it will be the stock dimensions and shouldn't effect ride or handling. If you just want to replace them both and not have to worry about it, then go for it. Unless the other one looks beat up or squeaks or something, I would just leave it as it sounds like it's fine.

Thanks for the info. I'll just replace the one that's giving me problems.
