I have been a long time lurker here (used to post some) and have always wanted an LS. I know about all of the common issues and whatnot. I don't have a lot to spend but I think I may have found a deal. I already have them down to $5000. The owner says they have never had to replace a coil, which scares me. Should I get it for $5000?

Not enough information. It could be okay. 2004 was one of the better years for the LS.

Got a few miles but if it's clean and well maintained could be a good deal.... V8?

Indeed. Call me picky but I really want the wood grain steering wheel and shifter which this does not have. Is it possible to find one and switch them out?

Sure, but it'd probably be better to wait till you find one with exactly what you want.

Looks good from a CL picture point of view. Definitely could use some more info and i'm right there with Joe to wait until you come across the one you want. I kick myself everyday I see my gray interior and thinking of the awesomeness if it were a very nice looking black with woodgrain or the black and silver.

If it makes you feel any better, my LS is silver with the dove gray interior, my wife's is dark cherry with black, my daughter's is silver with black and I prefer my color combo. Black is nice and maybe easier to "keep clean", but the dove keeps the interior looking a little brighter. It also doesn't get as hot.

I'm a neat freak and the only thing that really bothers me is that the previous owner has stains in the carpet. I really like the red and black look. I don't mind the grey but I couldn't pass this car up when I was in the market for one.

btw its a sport model by the looks of it but even thought it doesn't have the cheap wood grain, the leather was a higher price option with the sport models, so this one is actually nicer.. sure that stuff couldn't be that hard to change though.
5 grand for a 04 don't seem to bad, I would buy it.

The wood in the '03+ is real and leather is standard; except in Canada (eh) where cloth is optional. The leather is the same quality throughout the LS generations. All '03+ U.S. V8s were/are sport models and the V6s were not.

I meant the leather steering wheel and shifter. I know leather seats were standard, it is a Lincoln lol. And if It has chrome on the bumpers doesn't that mean its not a sport? a see a few 03+ v8's with chrome on the bumpers. Isn't that one way of telling?

I think you could get the premium sport or something like that which had some features of both, not sure about the chrome on the bumpers though.
