Holy crap, I just looked it up on the internets. Bay county is in frigid north Florida. Sounds like you should come down here. We know how to party in Key West...

I hear ya! I bet not that many other members that live in the same state are 700 miles away from each other.
Just stay away from the top of the Bull!
If you have never been to the Florida Keys, it is worth going AS LONG AS IT'S NOT A FREAKING WEEKEND OR HOLIDAY! When I used to go it was a drive down on a Monday and leave on Thursday thing. Friday through Sunday are just horrible traffic wise. Multiply that by 100 on any sort of summer holiday like Labor Day or Fourth of July.
Had a buddy with a time share in Marathon that we used to go down to once a year. Also stayed at Key West a few times but it's always crowded even during the middle of the week.
I haven't been down that way in a good 6-8 years or so. Always something to do, and some awesome diving and snorkeling to be had. Just be careful if some guy comes up and acts too friendly. He might want to be of ASSistance. LOL

Traffic can be bad...... If you drive down on a thursday its not that bad. We get what us locals call "weekend warriors" who drive down on Friday and leave Sunday. Summer is our slow season when it is not to bad. Winter is when it is crowded even in the middle of the week.
Pretty much what I noticed. That's why I likes to go Monday - Thursday. Avoid all the weekend warriors and just deal with the Keys Rats
Had the fishing rebounded at all? I know a while back things were starting to get fished out and they were talking about shortening the seasons and putting more restrictions on different fish.

The fishing down here is fine. They were talking about shortening the season on some species of fish (some groupers I think) Florida wide. Down here we dont have any problems.
