So I'm on my way home from a wedding today. I'm on the interstate doing 80, and outof the blue, I hear a "POP, bang bang bang bang bang" noise. The speed of the banging noise was adjusted with rpms. I thought it was a busted tensioner, or chain. But the car stayed running! I pulled off the interstate, and pulled into a Wendy's. I would've just pulled over on the freeway, but had the gf and the 2 kids with. I pop the hood, and listen closer. It's not a banging noise as I first thought. It was a huge vacuum noise. One of the spark plugs blew out of the top of the damn cylinder head! Busted the retaining eyelet off the coil. #7 cylinder.
Of course, I was 200 miles from home, and no tools. Luckily, I have an aunt that lives about 20 miles away from where I was stranded, so she came and brought me to Oreilly's where I was raped on a spark plug socket, 2 extensions, and a ratchet. But it was way cheaper than a tow truck.
