looking forward to the how to. i will be doing this if lms is out of the cobrasnake ones

They look cool with the front grill and the red inserts of the grill emblem in body color. I'd have pics but the car got totaled.

yea, im looking for more emblems. im was too impatient to order the color.

here is the front. looks 10X better in sun light. (half done)

LMAO^^ No, when i was painting them because they are rounded paint got on the front to. so they look like crap. and i was taking the photos on my iphone, so crapy photos. let me go get my camera.

ok ill let you

and its in i-PHONE, not an i-camera :)

im guilty too :P

yeps, well im trying to find my normal camera.... no luck, i think the sister took it college with her. but im using Mercedes-Benz paint code DB 40 (black)

i got the second coat on the front emblem, i tried to do it like i did on the front. but i didnt work, so i was going to dye it but i found this paint we had lying in the basement. first coat on front. LOOKS AMAZING!

now just paint the rest of your car black and itll add like 20hp, and look cool

HAHAH, me and a buddy of mine (chime in lance) came up with a new classification of HP. Its called VHP (Visual Hp) i wrote a whole paper on it for my final exam in engineering.

the gist of it was if you paint things red you gain HP... ill see if i can dig it up.

but this was done because the way it was before it was red but it was all cracked up and looked like sh!t

Man, and I just slapped down way too much for a brand new NOS rear emblem. :Bang

Looks great, man! Makes me wonder why they went with the red in the first place. The black looks so much more elegant.

ill buy your old one from you!

but yea, black just completes the car IMO

Do you have to take the emblem apart to do this? And do you use automotive paint? Mines looking shabby and I'm thinking this is something I could do very easily.

for the rear one.... (going to be a quick write up)

take the plastic emblem out of the chrome. (it just pushes out.)
there will be a tape like material on the back of it.
get all the tape off. (this is what makes it reflective red.)
there will be a impression of the lincoln logo. DONT REMOVE TAPE FROM THERE.
then all you have to do is paint the back. (you could even use spray paint)
painting the back will leave the lincoln star still visible.
*if you want it even nicer looking, get some polishing compound and polish the front of the emblem. :D

thats is. you dont need automotive paint. but thats what i had laying around.

DONT APPLY PAINT WITH A BRUSH.... (just a tip :| )

Nice! I have some custom mixed charcoal with heavy metallic laying around, I'll see if I can figure out how to spray some. Guess it's time to learn how to spray automotive paint, or just use some black spray paint.
