Want to build my 2004 LS, need advice

I have a 2004 Lincoln LS, the 3.0 V6. When it comes to working on vehicles I'm not the best at mechanics in regards to knowing what to do to make something faster. I work a lot, and have been saving on top of that, and I want both luxury and sport. I did all the interior work I wanted done, speakers, shifter, purple center consoles, tv's, purple led's, etc. So now comes time to build my car's performance and I want it done as best as I possibly can. I'm asking what to do to build it as agile as I can, what the part does, and lastly, in what order. Very much appreciated.
 
Not very much you can do for performance. There are little things like CAI, exhaust, a tuner, then you can go with a turbo if you really want performance gains.
 
Send pics of the interior we want to see all this purple. Also not much available for the v6 and not even the v8. Cai a new tune but find a place that does turbo and see how much or if its even possible. It has been done in the v8 already.

I thought about putting in a new engine. With all the electronics involved alone makes it not so much worth it being as I still want to drive it frequently. What would you do first and what is CIA?

CIA is Central intellegence agency. CAI is cold air intake.

I need a better camera to take pictures, because the lights show up blue-ish on my iPhone. lol

start with the exhuast, get the air out of the motor faster and easier.

then, the fuel system, as in your going to need to deliver more of it.

then add more air to the mix, either a bottle, blower, or snail.

then let the computer know whats going on and get it tuned.

then put a little work in to the rear end to help get that power to the ground.

at this point, if your still not happy, you need to start looking for parts for the bottom end, with having the 3.0, you may have better luck finding rods, pistons, and a crank.

then go back to step three...
 
On a gen2 I'd put an intake on it and tune it. That will add some power. If you seriously want some power a turbo will be needed. This engine loves turbos(it was co-designed with Porsche) and will handle over 300HP with stock internals no problem. Upgrade the pistons and connecting rods and it's good for over 500HP. The transmission might be a concern much over 300HP though.

How compatible is pressurization with the VVT? Or is it apples and oranges?

I thought fast meant do we have a girl on board, on board the ls forum, but maybe he meant does he have a girl on board his ls :confused:

Since you are boosting the VVT doesn't matter much at all. It won't hurt anything, but it won't help much either with boost. If yours works fine then just leave it. If for some reason it's messed up, then just lock it out.

If you are going to turbo, then you would probably want to lock it out at it's least overlapped position. Whatever that is. That way you can get more pressure through the exhaust.

The discussion you two are having, makes not the least bit of sense to me. I looked online, I found a Magnaflow exhaust system, they have the catalytic converters, and everything behind them for sale but I can't seem to find the headers.
 
That's because there are no headers for the LS. I believe it is Stainless Works...but they make Jag headers that work with some modifications.

If you bought an LS with the hopes of going the performance route you're going to be really disappointed.
