mud flaps?

anybody have mud flaps on their LS? i need to do something to keep mud, salt and rocks from hitting the wheel well because it is jacking up the paint. i always thought mudflaps would look totally goofy on an LS but idk what else i could do to protect the paint. any suggestions or pics of an LS with mudflaps so i can decide if i want to install some or not? thanks everybody
 
Don't know about mud flaps, but I have factory splash guards:

I would go with factory mud-flappers:p Those would probably look the best.

Here in the mountains, we have chains required at times. No I don't go off-road.....that is why I use them, to stay on the road.
 
Well props for still driving a RWD in the mountains and with chains! You put anything for weight in the back?

Yes, about 40 lbs silica sand, doesn't freeze solid, which could be deadly in an accident, and I also run Michelin Pilot Sports A/S Plus. I only run the chains when need be which is not all that often, I did not use them last winter but the winter before last I used them four time for about 20 miles total. I have had them for six years; amortize them over the years of use, and it is not that expensive over time for peace of mind and the ability to go when I need to.

Cheaper then tires and a whole lot easier to change when you need them.

Man, I'm glad I live in Florida. We only have to worry about hydro-plane :)
 
Back to the mudflaps....... I am using the factory splash guards as they are called. I had the part that matches the body painted to match. Take a look at my photo gallery.
 
Thanks, they do a pretty good job of keeping the road grime off of the car. Thye don/t blend in like I wanted them to, but the black part really hides good. becuase I have lowered the LS, the flaps are worn at an angle form going into driveways.
 
i did a little searching around and i think those splashguards are the way to go. know anywhere where i can find them cheap? they all seem pretty expensive everywhere i've looked
 
I see that someone got these. It was a good deal, I paid about $35+ for each set of mine.
 
only took 3 months but i finally bought some factory splash guards! haha found a front pair for 24 bucks and the rear pair for 50 i couldnt find rear ones for cheaper anywhere

my situation as well with them bending...check out my pics if u want, they should be visible. but as well as the the first part, add stone chips, i just washed my car yesterday and noticed a good penny-nickle size flake on my DS front qp. Saddly the splash guard fell off when i hit a pot hole last winter n now i suffer from it...
 
beautiful car geldtron. do you have chrome pillars on one side and black on the other or is it just the photos?
 
TY Vm. i try to take care of her as well as i can. Yes i do...after buying them and puttin them on my drivers side...i started to not like the look. Was just to gaudy n cheep lookin. (made it look like a dam 300c as far as i was concerned, mby even a caddy? feel to it n i couldn't stand it) Also, For some reason the cuts didnt line up right and there was an uneven gap between the front and back door as well as them not being quite tall enough either. In the end i decided they just looked like :q:q:q:qe n never installed the otherside. I actually removed the one on my back door...but when i did it removed the clear coat off the plastic so i stoped removing them in fear of causing damage, n i decided to leave the others there till i can afford a new paint job and to black out the chrome on the door surrounds aswell. mby not totally black it out.. but get that black chrome look goin perhaps??
not sure yet...
