Looking to procure all parts for a hub swap, do all the brakes, new rear axles and was wondering if anyone know the best affordable items currently available to do so. By affordable i mean the good stuff at good prices. I would like to buy new on all wearable items

So whats everyones take on the brake upgrades vs. stock what do you guys like? i feel the stopping power on the Mark isnt anywhere near what it should be and it has all good stock stuff on it now.

What source for the preferred cross drilled/slotted rotors?

What are you using for steel braided brake lines?

I already have the rear caliper relocation brackets.

Opinions?

Thanks for all your help.

Cobra brakes are a very needed upgrade. You wont regret doing them. It became very apparent last week, when I had to make a sudden stop. On the stock stuff, probably would of had an accident.

I went with R1 for my rotors. Have had them on 3 cars, and no issues.
I didn't do the braided lines, but I will be doing that in the near future.

Edit: In regards to your halfshaft question. I don't believe anyone makes stronger ones for us. If I build a suercharged engine, I will be swapping in a Cobra 31 spline diff, and level 5 halfshafts.

I've heard nothing but good about r1, i will have to check them out. I figured id should do lines while in there anyway, dont the mustang calipers require different lines? I had an accident, just another reason of why to upgrade... i hear you. That paired with bad tires put me right into the back of a little ford ranger and did a number on my front including the rad support.

I'd like to find a set of oem axles if possible at the least.

are the outer splines on both cobra and lincoln shafts, mustang and lincoln rear hubs, the same? 28 on the outside, but 99-04 got 31 splines at the rear due to FI?

Cobra hubs fit on Lincoln halfshafts just fine. Diffs are the difference, and I think from 96+ they were 31 spline. There is an eBay vendor who had 3 OEM halfshafts. I bought one from him, and it is working great so far.

The factory brake line brackets, need to be shaved down a bit to clear the lip on the Cobra calipers. If you're running the braided, then there should be no issue. I didn't get a set, because I just forgot.

I bought Napa Rotors and Timkin bearings from Hubbearing.com I will be running EBC pads and I am going 04 cobra diff and axles

Only the 03 -04 cobra had the 31 spline stuff

I think you are better off doing like I did and buying a complete 04 cobra irs and robbing all parts. I have 400 in a 3.55 posi 2 31 spline axles both hubs and bilstien shocks and I am sure I'll the carcass with lsc stuff for a few hundred

Good idea but i just need the hubs, bearings, rotors, and axles in the back....which all need to be new (except the hub) anyway. I already have a built rear with 4.10s (love it) thanks to DLF, he is the man.
