Damn! Mine (V8 non-sport) was at around 4500 @ 120.. I would have/never would push my LS to redline.. You never know what would happen.. Good shifting though..

You can see the tach, at :52 I shift to 5th, about 138MPH from that angle. It's about 5800RPM when it hits the limiter. My tack actually reads 200 RPM high, I can verify this with another video if you want, but it's going to have to wait a few hours as I'm watching my kids.

These engines are good past 7K(3l Duratec), they are used in many other applications are withstand it just fine. There biggest problem is oil starvation this is why the LS has such a large sump.

I think the max I've ever gone in my 06 is ~120mph. But I do hit 5k rpm a couple of times a week during my commute

Yes I do. That road is very long with no cross traffic for about 5 miles. There's quite a few roads like that here.

I was in a rush heading to MN from IA once and was pegging the speed governer in my Cavvy. Luckily the cop clocked me at only 83mph :shifty:
