Hey, guys. I recently installed LED lights on the inside of my LS (2005 LSV8). the LED's pull miliamps, so they really dont have a huge pull on any wire. The lights are set up and placed where I want them. I tested them with a battery pack that came with the Lights and everything lights up. I am also installing a switch so I can turn them on when ever I want. I need help finding a hot wire. I took off the panel underneath the steering wheel and can see a bunch of wires. i was going to try to hook it to the parking light control switch, but im thinking i should just hook it to a positive wire since i have a switch. if you know a positive wire i can tap without it affecting anything please let me know, or of any wires that are in the fuse box would be great. any help is greatly appreciated.

hmm. i dont see anything like a fuse with an LED coming out if it. are you talking about the fuse box or by the control module?

lol...oh ok. i could do it that way. i was hoping to use something under the steering wheel where the light controls are, but that would work as well

ok. ill do that then. thanks alot for the help. i was really stuck lol. ill put picks up once its done

Well, They worked for a few seconds. I plugged the add a fuse into the empty 10amp socket. Everything light up once i hit the switch. then i went to mount the switch and accidently hit a metal bracket which caused it to spark and blew a fuse. I replaced the fuse and now I get nothing. I tested the switch, and its good. I tested the connections and they're good. I tested the socket and its good. I just put in the new add a fuse and now i get nothing. Its brand new. I replaced it and it still doesnt want to light up. any suggestions?

Perhaps you also blew one of the distribution fuses in the trunk fuse box?

mmm. that could be. but its weird cause i took a meter to the fuse socket and it was good. and where is the distribution fuses in the trunk located?

yeah the LED's still work with the battery. the switch isnt blown neither nor is the add a fuse. and all of the connections are good. Is there a fuse in the trunk that is for the fuse box in the cabin? Im looking in the owners guide and i dont see anything that relates to the box in the cabin. and do you know what SSP4 and SSP3 mean?

i would check every fuse in all of the fuse boxes to make sure you still dont have one that is blown

yup, thats what im going to be doing for the rest of the night....thanks for your help guys! i really do appreciate it.

SSP3 and SSP4 are two of the battery saver relays. They turn on when you do anything to the car (open a door, unlock it, key on, whatever), and then turn off several minutes after you leave the car.

SSP3 provides power to -
the front map lights
the rear interior lights
the vanity mirror lights
exterior mirrors
glove box light
footwell lights
radio antenna

SSP4 provides power to -
REM
rear lights (brake and turn signals)
license plate lights
trunk light
fuel door release
