high stall Torque Converter install

So i've had this 3500 stall Edge Racing 9.5 inch lock up converter sitting in my garage for a year. When installed, should I throw in a 4r70w rebuild kit with it. What's the best route for me to take, the tranny is a stock 98 4R70W with over 100k miles on it.

Install an additional transmission oil cooler while you're at it. I've had good luck with a Superduty torqshift tranny cooler.

Definitely run a good cooler.

IMO, the trans works, I wouldn't screw with rebuilding it. Just JMod it and call it a day.

Let me know what you think of the Edge unit and how you like it, I have a 4000 stall (though I doubt it would stall close to that on a stock motor) Pro Edge waiting to go in - and yours will probably be in way before mine.

I'd throw it in the tranny as is... whats the worst that could happen.

The worst that could happen is the tranny exploding into a great fireball at 75 MPH, burning his car and him to the ground.

But, I just don't see that happening.

Geno has had an Edge converter in his car for years says it works great.

One thing that no one asked nor seem to have touched upon (well, medium did indirectly), was this torque converter stalled for your current engine power? Did you buy it new from Edge, or used?

3500 RPM stall for a factory engine is totally different than 3500 RPM stall for a high power engine.

It was stalled for a Mark VIII motor.

I'd just hate to see you slap this thing in and get crappy drivability problems because it's stalled for the wrong power level Mark VIII motor, ya know?
