98 Mark driveline humming/vibration

Just put a new trans in my mark. Drives and shifts fine. At 40mph and up there's a humming driveline vibration. Thinking a U joint since I put the old one back in but it didnt make this noise before the trans rebuild. It's totally speed dependent, not gear dependent. Any ideas?

Happens when you reinstall a drive shaft backwards. At least you didn't install it sideways :lol:

Next time, make sure you mark one of the drive shaft to pinion gear flange bolt holes and reinstall the drive shaft so the same holes line up.

Seeing how you are going to be pulling the drive shaft it may be timely to bring it to a drive shaft shop for bearing/journal replacement as well as straightening and re-balance.

Well I left it attached to the rear when i dropped the trans so I just reconnected the ujoint so I dont know how I could have messed it up..... alright shes up in the air. Any tricks i should know when dropping the tank etc to get the driveshaft out?

Got the straps off. Seems to be something else holding it up on the top of the tank WTF.
