Question on MOTOR/ ADVANCED TRACK?? help ?

i have a 01 lincoln ls i just recently put a new v-8 motor in it this summer. Ever sence i had the new motor put in everytime i start the car and go to drive it, before i actully put it in drive to take off i have to press the advanced track button or else it will on put. I know that its not a motor prob and most likly something simple with a wiring connect or some kind of sensor maybe? Shouldnt be nothing big but i dont really know what to look for

anybody have any ideas what this could possibly be???????

You need to describe the problem a little better (for me, at least).

1. The problem is that AdvanceTrac gives a failure message unless I turn it off each time I use the car.

2. AdvanceTrac is enabled each time I start the car, but I turned it off before and I want it to stay off. (This is the correct behavior, and it can't be changed.)

Okay, so is the AdvanceTrac or Traction Control (whichever you have) light flashing when this happens (it barely goes)?

Does the ABS light come on?

Is the check engine light on?

check engine light is not on although it does come on every great once in a while for a few miles then its off, and the abs light is on but it wasnt on before i had the new motor put in. and no the advanced trac light is not flashing.

i start the car..let it idle down..i press the advanced trac button n i can drive.

I think that the place to start here is to get the ABS problem diagnosed and repaired. A Ford specific code scanner will be required. Clearly, whoever put the replacement engine in screwed up.

agreed, did they even test drive it before they returned it to you? doesn't sound like it.
