So I went to replace my pads today cause they have been kind of crappy and my fluid levels kept going low and they needed to be replaced lol. Anyway, I did the front ones, fine, I get to the back passenger side and notice brake fluid pretty much pouring out where the e-brake line hooks up and the caliper is shot. I guess I'm just looking for a parts/labor cost if I bring it to a shop and have it replaced.

Are you looking at a new, rebuilt, or used caliper?

And if it's coming from the lines rather than the piston, I wouldn't think hands down that the caliper is bad.. Could be the hose

Probably a new one, thats what I assume the mechanic will get (haven't talked to them yet, they aren't open sundays).

The hose looked alright and the caliper was practically falling apart, it took all we could do to get the bolts off and take the pads out. I think because the brake fluid had been getting all over the caliper for who knows how long that the fluid ate at it and made it pretty much fell apart. It seems to only leak when using the e-brake but my foot pretty much goes to the floor, I don't think the caliper is working at all on the rear passenger side.

Well that's better than I thought it would be lol. Thank you for that.

Sure. And actually it was about $190 but with a $60 core charge, so when you bring back the old caliper you get the 60 back.

Its the caliper, its the rubber boot part. If your lucky you could find one from a salvage yard for about 40 bucks. unhook e cable, replace, hook e cable, bleed. all set

Yeah I have to have a shop do it. It's my only car and I work all week so I don't have time to fart around looking for a salvage to get one to put on myself, and I won't have the time throughout the week to put it on if I did find one. If I didn't work I wouldn't mind doing it myself. Gotta spend money to make money to spend money I guess lol.

I know the feeling with my truck.. The LS is my toy though and she's been in the garage all winter.. Actually like 3 weeks with the intake off.. lol
