would it fit??

well first of all the stock piping of the ls is 2.25" not 2.5".

And why would you put a flowmaster muffler instead of an xpipe??

what exhaust setup do you currently have??

Im just trying to figure out what he wants to do......ive seen those mufflers used before but at the tail of the vehicle with both pipes running into it so and dual pipes coming out.

so a single muffler instead of dual mufflers like we have.

well first i had only an xpipe installed with no mufflers and it was to raspy and loud
then i bout borla mufflers so am having now (xpipe and borla mufflers ) and sound just gone with the new borla mufflers
so am planing to remove the borla and the pipe and but only the flowmaster instade of the x pipe

that's the sound with only an x pipe and no mufllers

and sorry for my bad english :D

salam.

The loudest mufflers are the bassani's from what ive seen.

Get bassani mufflers with custom 2.5" straight pipe all the way down to the cats. Thats the loudest it will be without taking the mufflers back off.

I think he is trying to put it where the x pipe would go so he only has to have one muffler..

I don't believe it would fit in there.. If it did, it would be extremely close and you might have some rattling.. I would just get mufflers for each side..

Yeah im sure it wont fit there.

Even if it did there would be ground clearance issues and some scraping im sure.

Yeah i looked at those canister style mufflers.

but those are the ones ricers like to use....

Not to thread jack lol but anyone know a good setup for the v6? I cut the resonators and it sounded horrible I would like a deep smooth tone

If you cut the resonators off, you have to put in an x-pipe or you'll end up with a raspy sound. Another great exhaust setup wold just deleting the mufflers and keeping only resonators. You could even go with resonators other than stock, like slp or aeroturbine.

To the OP, I had flowmasters without resonators before and it was TOO loud. I put the resonators back on and the volume was great. I dont know how it would sound with only one flowmaster muffler, but with one at each pipe, it was raspy. Keep the x-pipe and put the flowsmaster muffler on, or keep the x-pipe and install your choice of aftermarket resonators.

One of my favorite sounding exhausts, slp resonators and an x-pipe only.

oh also, NickT88LSC installed a dual in/out magnaflow muffler. I dont know the specs on that one or on the one you want to use, but he did it so I'm sure you can find a way to make yours fit.

Maybe he could get the magnaflow race mufflers.. Those would be louder but not as loud as open exhaust..

I always wondered how the Cherry Bomb Extreme would sound on the LS..

I have them installed on my 2000 with h-pipe instead of x-pipe. Sounds nice and deep and not too loud but loud. Had a guy at work compliment it as he was behind me on way to parking lot. He said it sounded perfect and mean and not too loud and wanted his vehicle to sound same way.

I thought I saw something about using 05+ Mustang GT mufflers on the LS V8. Anybody know if these are a direct fit? How about sound difference from stock?

/hijack :D

Take it to a shop and they will make it work. Haven't seen that yet, be the first.

IIRC, someone did it and they had to hack them up.. They weren't stocks but I can't remember the brand.. Like said, they will make them fit..
