so i was driving to work last night as soon as i started my car it was shakey a bit, not as good acceleration, check engine light started blinking after 30 seconds ect. all signs of a misfire coil problem. drove for about 2 minutes and it went away, coming home from work no problem, no blinking light.

i've read that they extened the warranty on the coils but havent been able to find any actually info on this. anybody know where to find it and if its the same canada. also is it for all ls's or just v8, most of what i read was for 04-05 v8 but i'd assume they used the same in all?

also, since it went i away i am assuming this is inevitable and will eventually just constantly misfire and this is just a sign that it is almost worn right out. am i doing any damage to my car by driving it even if its not doing it anymore.

any info, links, links to thread that would help would be greatly appreciated.

Program 07M07 - 160k KM or 10 years for 03-05 V8 models.

They will (should) stress test each coil, and if it fails, it will be replaced for free, along with the spark plug.

PM me your email, and I'll send you the .pdf with all the details.

Can I just pop into a Lincoln dealer and have them test mine?

I have about 133,000km and I get what feels like a miss fire (to me) somtimes. :(

PM sent for pdf (please!) :)

Make sure they actually test the coils and not have one of the certified a55holes in the back drive the car around for 30 miles and tell you "all of the coils passed the test" when you go to pick up the car.

Yeah, my 06 has no coils issues yet either. It's around 68K miles. However, I didn't have my first coil issue on my 04 until about 70K miles.
