If I want to remove me DCCV to clean the plungers will I have to
purge the air out of the coolant system or does it not effect it enough?

I tried the search but of course the answer was not found...

You will have to recover or replace the coolant lost when you disconnect the hoses, and then you will have to bleed the air out. Bleeding is not a big deal at all compared to removing and cleaning the DCCV.

Cool, Thanks.

I figured it would be needed but hoped there was a possibility I could get off
easy.

This is going to be a busy cam tensioner/Dccv filled weekend for me.

:)

I ran some Prestone cooling system cleaner through my system as the DCCV seemed to be malfunctioning on occasion. That was about 6 weeks ago and I have no DCCV symptoms since. You might want to try that first. The DCCV is difficult to pull out and work on in the limited space around it.
