I got blessed today and am a qualified lineman now! Mod progress inside

Bummer. I dont think I could do that job. I'm not afraid of heights, i'm just not 100% with them, so I guess you can say I am a little afraid of heights

I can tell you right now that I was never afraid of heights.. I can go full boom on the bucket truck (like 60 feet) and I have no problems.. But going 40 feet on a wooden pole that shakes like a muther when the wind is full force on you is kinda the point for me. To tell you the truth, I'm more comfortable in the wind than in dead wind.. Figure that.. :p

a upper lineman ogod . just kidding . my best friends whole family work the lines TAKE CARE of the knees and work carefully.

Cigars are the sh!t.. I have to try some "real ones"..

The housing I need is backordered until Jan..

Pull one from a mark viii in a junkyard.

Yes, cigars are a new addiction for me. Just received an order today. 1 each of:

Torano Tribute
Nub Connecticut
Cain Habano
Opus X Reserve d'Chateau ($35 smoke  )
Tat Cojonu 2003
Illusione MK
Perdomo 10th anniversary Maduro

hey Pete, if alex isnt interested i very well maybe if i dont end up getting the parts already

No I'll be interested. Well unless it's cheaper for me to get the parts here in cali, but I doubt it.

Hey.. don't overwhelm Pete here.. I will have a housing too! :p

Pete, used ds or are you getting it from somewhere? I was thinking dss

Well then let's talk business, when you free up that housing.

Today I wasn't on my game.. I slipped and did the loggers way of coming down.. that is kicking the hooks out of the pole and coming down 10-15 feet and sticking back in.. scared the sh!t out of me..

I know the feeling, I cut out once and fell coming down. Not fun--instinct is to grab the pole and hug.... Not the best for chest splinters and you will still fall anyways. I work for the phone company.

At least when you hug it, it slows you down enough to get them back in.. I think putting tools in it and moving crap around is what did it.. I'm going to switch the tool pouch back to the side I had it on and see if that's better..

Actually, the ds I'm hoping to get - at least temporarily - is going to be a direct fit. If that falls through, then I'll get one from a junk yard, and send it off to DSS.

As far as the housing, what I will have is a stock 8.0" with LSD installed. This swap should take someone all of a couple hours for someone with a gen 1. Pull one axle shaft, disconnect driveshaft from diff, disconnect dif from brace, remove diff, reverse for installing the new one. No tearing apart the pumpkin. Just add fluid. I did use the motorcraft additive.

Did you ever price one from dss? Would it be shortening it and adding the appropriate flange and of course a rebalance.. shouldn't be that much..

I wanna say it was around 300 (can't remember if that included shipping) without the price of the ds.
