Anyone have an issue with exhaust leaks on the 3.9? I believe I have one comming from the manifold on the passenger side? Just wondering if this was common or how hard it would be to do myself? Thanks in advance,

Don't know about 3.9's but other Fords do have issues breaking studs. The ones on my F-150 are way too small. The rearmost one broke on both sides creating a tick that goes mostly away as the engine warms up. Also, the outer y-pipe stud rotted through on both sides. The y-pipe studs were burned out with oxy fuel and replaced with shoulder bolts.

On the manifold bolts, a washer was welded to what was left of the stud, then a nut was welded to the washer and the stud was turned out. I replaced the stud without getting into the gasket and the noise is gone, but your mileage may vary. There's not a lot of room underhood on a LS, so this job may be difficult or impossible.
