I went to order an oem radiator only to find it would cost $300 to get it in my hands. I decided to call the auto parts store to find out what their price is for a new radiator... $168. They said its new made by Spectra and that they are a big radiator manufacturer. I did some research to find this correct. Anyone have any experience with Spectra? I think just on the principle of it all i dont want to order oem and maybe, just maybe, a Spectra radiator might use better quality plastic than the oem did. Any thoughts?

i just wish that they didnt use any plastic, i hit a raccoon once, barely bent the radiator, but it cracked the plastic end of it and all of the coolant poured out, that sucked just waiting for a tow truck to take the car less than 3 mi.

I always use....

I order online at the radiator site. They will have it on your door step the next day. Great pricing too. Good quality. Never had a problem with them.

We need a flowdyne/fluidyne application for the LS. I have one in my Focus and knowing I have the bigger core with aluminum tanks is very reassuring. Seriously.

How about some metal parts for most of the rest of the cooling system plastic parts? (If you're going to dream...)

yea tell me about it, i would even pay an extra 5k - 10k for a car if i knew that it didn't have a bunch of plastic bullsh!t, on a focus or a fusion and maybe even a taurus, yea its got to be expected, but on a premium version like a MKZ or MKS, what else cost so much for the price difference?

I think the Autozone intake I pieced together for my wifes 06 focus was that brand... If it works though, might as well save.
