In the last two weeks my computer has been screwy reading all kinds of wrong things like "door ajar" , "low oil" ok so this weekend it wouldn't even crank ...still wont! Is my computer fried? What's something like that gonna cost to fix? I'm scared to know but I would like some imput if anyone has any to offer...thanks, Keez.

if your door was ajar your battery may be dead. lol.

for real though the door ajar probably has nothing to do with the no start issue. Did you check the oil level? ever try to jump it? what happened when you did.

we need more Info!!!!!!

I just got an oil change this month and I tried to have it jumped when Tripple A came. I was reading a good battery it was @ 12.5. I don't know what else to tell you. I could check that altenator situation out.

Well he said "wrong" , so I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and say hes already checked the door switches and oil level on the stick, and he's already tried to jump it, nothing happened...so grab yourself an ECU..it'll run ya about $40 at most salvage yards..kinda hard to find, let me know if ya need one I can get ya one and you pay shipping

I'm gonna sound like a fool among guru's but what's an ECU? And how on earth do I put it in?

your cars computer. i'm not sure how to put it in but i believe its in the passenger side kick panel... i'm pretty sure its easy to replace. From what i hear.

Im with your idea, whatever it is I don't mind coming off the 40 plus shipping...vs what ever Lincoln is gonna charge me

Its on the drivers side next to the steering column behind the beauty panel. Opposite from other Ford cars.

straight to the computer come on people
are the battery cables good take them off and check
check voltage at alt. and at starter then get back to us

Before I can condemn an ECU, I need to check the power source, and also check the power source while under cranking load, if the battery is dropping under 10 volts while cranking, then you need a new battery

because under 10 volts while cranking, all sorts of fun things happen with vehicles computer systems, especially those that have multiple systems

well thats on my list of to do's first thing tomorrow im gonna spend however long i need to and run down the list of suggestions. i just want her back healthy thanks for every bit of imput everyone i will be getting back you you guys shortly

.. also check the power source while under cranking load,

This is called load testing the battery. Usually done with a snap-on load tester that you hook up to the battery and turn the knob which activates the carbon piles putting a load on the battery.

Just for the wondering..

Or you can not buy the tool and just take it pretty much anywhere that sells batteries and have it tested for free

by the way, once it's running, check your battery volts...should be around 14.2....that'll let ya know the Alt is charging, if it's not at least 14, have your Alt checked
