I noticed while searching, that some lucky owners have been able to get the dealer to replace all 8 coils and plugs under the extended warranty. I'm bringing mine in tomorrow for it's second coil warranty - the previous owner had one replaced just before I bought it less than 4000 miles ago (and the vcg's done also.)

How can I convince the dealer to replace them all now instead of one every 4-5000 miles?

It would help if you say what year Lincoln LS you have and if it is a V6 or V8.

The extended warranty covers 03-05, and they only replace failed coils they test under stress. There may be some dealers that fudge the failed test and replace all.

I did state that the previous owner had one replaced under the extended warranty so that obviously puts the car in the covered range.

As for dealers fudging the test, that's what I'm asking. I've read posts from members who did get all 8 replaced under the warranty and I want to know what their dealers had to say about doing that.

When two of my coils went bad, the dealer changed out all 8 coils, spark plugs and the covers that go over the coils. They just told me Ford didn't want comebacks.

Well, I brought it in today and talked to the service manager. He said there's no way he could do that unless they all tested bad. He said Ford is watching his warranty work very closely and red-flagging anything out of the ordinary. He said if they caught him, he'd be in big trouble and I'd end up with the bill for all the ones that didn't test bad.
