In the process of plugs/coils - Need help ASAP

So I pulled the coil covers off today and all was going well until I noticed one of my coils had a little adhesive pad on top...:shifty:

From what I can gather, the idiot broke the bolt that holds the coil down and is basically keeping the coil in by pinching it under the coil cover (hence the adhesive pad on top of the coil.) I can see the bolt (head snapped off) but I can't get anything on there to get it out. I'm assuming I cannot simply drill it out with the cover still on the car correct? If I drill out the bolt would all the shavings end up in the engine or don't those bolt holes go down into the head? I would need to remove the entire valve cover?

Also, all my spark plug wells looked pretty damn clean except the drivers side second from the front of the car. It had a good amount of oil in it? I believe VCGs were done about a year ago under the Ford bulletin for 03's. Any ideas on why only 1 well would have oil?

First: It shouldn't be too difficult to extract the broken screw with the correct tools, but if you'r not comfortable doing it yourself, you should take it in to a metal shop.
Second: There are plenty post conserning the oil in the spark plug wells.

i need to do that too, i have the 2002 v6. what are you going to change? coils and sparkplugs?
i think i need to do that but i dont want to change the coils they are too expensive

How much of the bolt is sticking out? I'm assuming you couldnt get in there with a pair of needlenose pliers and turn the broken bolt out? If you had to drill it out I would think you could use tape to cover the area so no metal shaving end up going down the spark plugs. You can tell if the VCGS were done by the color of the gaskets and you should now have gaskets for the spark plug wells. If oil still got in after the VCGs were replaced then maybe they weren't installed properly.
